Vintage MOD Anti Magnetic Munitions Tools – Two Telcon Spanners
*When I was a wee lad, I travelled around the country with my Dad in his pick up truck, learning the dubious art of the MOD surplus game.
My favourite place that we used to visit was Anchor Supplies in Nottingham run by the “Hendersons”. When the conversation turned to topics incriminating or too sophisticated I was told to have a mooch.
Anchor Supplies had its own little museum and the best bewitching part was the munition tools.
Every MOD tool and workshop device you could imagine, made from non sparking anti magnetic bronze and highly polished just gleamed under spotlights.
Sledgehammers, shovels, stilsons, hand carts and trolleys with bronze wheels and handles .. even a pair of solid bronze forklift forks! It was a sight that has never left me.
