Genuine Heinke Helmet & Knife Display Piece.

A display mounted half section 12-bolt square corselet helmet by C E Heinke & Co Ltd, London, and a Seibe Heinke diver’s knife and sheath. together on a green baize with maker’s plate, the helmet section fitted with interior display light. Takes a B22 bulb.

When the Royal Navy sold off their helmets, the last hard-hat course being in 1986, they used to drive pick-axes through the tops of them. It was rumoured at the time though that a couple of old stock Heinke helmets were sliced in half and mounted for presentation. This would make sense because this is the third one we have had in twenty years.

This one has the addition of a gorgeous example of a very rare Siebe Heinke knife, rare in the fact it was made in the narrow window after 1961 when Siebe Gorman took over ver Heinke and used the name for a few years.
