Ex HMCS Restigouche Ship’s Telegraph
£2,400.00 (inc. VAT)
This incredible and rare Ex HMCS Restigouche Ship’s Telegraph is a must-have for any collector of naval memorabilia. Sourced from a private collection in British Columbia, this beautiful British ‘Chadburns’ pattern was made under license by Montreal makers Taylor & Arnold when the ship was built in 1958.
The telegraph features a unique brass orders plate, a design commonly used by the Canadian and US Navy. This order plate was an evolution from the ceramic and glass orders that were found to be too brittle and easily cracked or shattered when the big guns were fired.
HMCS Restigouche was the lead ship of the Restigouche class destroyers that served in the Royal Canadian Navy and later the Canadian Forces. This remarkable piece was removed prior to her modernisation in 1970 and is now available for the lucky collector.
