Ventilator Shutter by Le Corbusier C.1966

Many pieces were made but very few to have reached the market

One of two ‘plane wing’ vertical shutters we saved after they were removed from the Students Building in Chandigarh

Mounted on a pivot they regulated the airflow in the ventilation embrasures of the building. Made from folded and riveted aluminium sheet. Inset handles. We have mounted them in teak frame for display but can be easily re-constituted if necessary

Literature: Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret: The Indian Adventure, Eric Touchaleaume and Gerald Moreau, p. 604

Dimensions:

Vent 1: 163 x 54 x 40
Vent 2: 163 x 54 x 36
